Information Socialization

Information socialization takes information management to the next level. Information management systems work with sources such as databases and filing systems. This data can be useful, but it’s often flat and static. By treating people as searchable resources, we enrich traditional information management. We let users discover people with similar interests, and then interact with them. Sharing experiences and collaborating provides each person with a richer understanding of the problems they're solving and the data available to them. We have developed techniques to capture human information so we can build profiles of people and how they perform their jobs. These searchable profiles enable users to discover and communicate with each other. Information Socialization has a variety of useful applications, including historical tracking and reporting, alerts, and powerful searching based on intuitive knowledge rather than database schema.
